Truck keeps shutting off

My service truck at work keeps on dieing all of a sudden. You take it down the road and she shuts off and the service engine soon light comes on. The truck is a 00 F-350 with the 7.3 bone stock. Guys have any ideas??

If it's fine cold and gets progressively worse as it gets hot, that's symptomatic of the cam sensor.

did you take advantage of the ford recall for your cam positioning sensor?

if not now would be a good time to try and get it to the dealer so its fixed for free.

Yep, had it in again to the dealership it was a cam sensor. I found out another thing on my own though that I pointed out to the mechanic over at the ford garage. They have a rubber flap that was covering the intake hole. And what got me all the time was the filter minder kept on saying the thing was dirty. Well what was happening actually was the flap was getting sucked tight against the intake hole. I asked my service writer if this was right, after explaining to him why I thought it was incorrect. He said they would check it out. He ended up calling me and telling me that they folded that rubber piece out of the way and zip tied it. Sure has a little more scoot for some reason now lol. The truck is still a friggin pooch. couldnt tell you what the gears are. and I know the turbo is spooling correctly. I know for a fact, it dosent like to get up to speed very fast when pulling a goose neck trailer. thats for sure
