Coolent?

So all the other trucks I have been looking at have fell through, Im still on the search for the perfect tow rig. Im looking at a 1995 F350 with the 5 speed tonight. I know that the coolent is very important on the powerstrokes but I dont have a Ph tester and the guy didnt know anything about Ph and the coolent so im a little nervious. Should I be? Or can I just have it flushed and refilled and add the additive that is needed? Help!

just flush it <i hope its not 14 year old coolant>.
flush the coolant and INSTALL a coolant filter.

if you use green coolant buy a filter that contains SCA in
the filter (basically the additive is in the form of PELLETS that
desolve).

Filters that have SCA in them will help maintain the pH.

youll still need to occasionally TEST the coolant w/ a pH strip,
and youll have to change the filters (when the SCA desolves),
but changing a filter every 6 or 12 months is EASY and CHEAP.

coolant filtering can also extend the life of the water pump.

Ok sounds good, thanks for the good info. Ill do that if the rest of the truck checks out good. Is there anything else I should be looking for when buying a truck like this?
