Need HELP ASAP!!!

Hello im calling all ford gurus im in need of expert advice on my truck.

To start it off i took my truck to ford a few months ago and asked them to just do the 60000 mile check of and change the things needing to be done. So i go and pick it up and its fine but the next day i go and back it up and it dies but starts fine and dies again in reverse. so i take it back and they cant figure it out and say its my fault not theirs. so ok i take it to a mechanic my dad knows and he tries everything he knows and nothing helps the fact it turns off in reverse. So we decided it to take it to another mechanic my buddy knows and said he only works on fords and hes the best in town. Well he tries everything he knows and asks his other friends and they say its the tourqe converter so they just replaced it and my dad went to pick it up today and it cut out again in reverse. So there taking it back tomorrow and see if it could be anything else>

So my question to yall is does anyone know what in the world could be happening to make it quit in reverse and just shut down?

How does it stall? Does it surge, sputter or buck, or is it more like someone just turned the key off?

Stalling in reverse is usually a sign of a Torque converter lock-up. But you change the torque converter...

Its possible the shift solenoids are bad in the transmission. My buddies 97 did that.

Its also possible that the CPS is going bad too.

Does it stall just in reverse or any gear u put it in? If its all gears i'd try the cps for ****s n giggles, its a cheap part. If it just does it in reverse its gotta be something isolated to the tranny, shift solenoids, shift sensors, god knows everything is electronic in these friggin trucks. I have to say too this is the 1st time ive ever heard of this problem, I thought i was the only 1 to have luck like this

We had a truck at work(2006 F-350) with a problem like this. Put in reverse and it would stall. Also comming up to a stop it would stall but not all the time. It ended up being the fuel pressure regulator. Dont know if this helps. Good luck

remove the tranny cooler lines from the trans and blow shop air throught the rear line and flush out the cooler. If the cooler has a slite blockage the back pressure will hold the converter in lock.
