anyone running Rotella 5w40 full synth all year round?

I got 5 gallons of full synthetic rotella 5w40. should i save it for the winter? or should i just throw it in there now.

I live in Rhode island. It gets in the high 90's here in the summer. will the oil be too thin for the summertime?

I run it year round...sometimes year and a half round. The truck doesn't get driven much anymore...so I usually end up changing the oil about once every year to year and a half. Depends on when Blackstone tells me its due.

the 5 doesn't really even matter. the 40 is what you care about. the 5W stands for 5 Winter. so it acts like a 5 weight while cold, and a 40 while hot. I run 0W30 year round in my gutless ranger, and i don't' think twice about it. Before some people ran him off, this sites amsoil dealer Bill put almost 30K miles on 5W30 in his 7.3L on one interval, and was still good to go.

I've been running Rotella Synthetic 5w40 year round for about the last 4 years with great UOA results from Blackstone.

I just recently switched over to Schaeffer's 5w synthetic and noticed a faster start time. I've not pulled a UOA on this oil yet, but I anticipate it being even better than the Rotella.
