acts like it ran out of fuel

I was driving my truck with no problems until i lost fuel pedal. I could continue with my speed but could not excellerate. This only happened for a short distance since I was just about to pull in to fill up. After filling up the truck would crank but I could not get it to start. After being trailered home I pulled the chip out and tried to start. After 15-20 seconds of cranking it started but acted like a motor that had been run out of gas. Shut of and kept restarting doing the same thing. I put the chip back in for some reason thinking that wasn't the problem and restarted. Took for a ride and when I would shift I got the lugged down rattle at 2 grand. No check engine light while on tuner but stock setting sets the light. Oil is not very old plenty full. Just cleaned ipr. After being run down the road it won't start for a while. Any ideas. I don't have a scan tool but probably should buy one.

I just changed it when I was having trouble a couple months ago. Once it runs it will go down the road through the full rpm range but doesn't have the power it used to. With tuner it would puff some decent smoke but barely any now.

Took the tuner out today and took for a short ride. Still odd starting up and just doesn't feel right driving. Been a while since on stock setting so power loss is hard to feel. After two miles cel light came on and shortly there after it just shut off and won't restart. Going to try cam sensor but don't know what else I can try without scanning it.

sounds like your fuel pickup tube is sucking air somewhere between the tank and the lift pump.... i have the same problem going on with my 2000 F-250. is your filter housing filling up with fuel when you cycle the key on with the engine off?

i can't get it to start now at all. why would air kick a check engine light. also as soon as it quit i opened the filter and it was completely full. not trying to shut you down. i'm just thinking its electrical.

Sounds electrical to me.

Just curious, can you test the Throttle Position Sensor?
