Twins in a different way?

Has anyone ever put on two identical turbos only mounting one on the back 3 ports and one on the front 3 ports.
My son said he drove a Peterbuilt the other day that used that configuration on a Cat engine and was putting 750HP to the drive tires and literally threw you back into the seat when you stomped on the throttle. The truck was from the USA but I forgot where he said the driver told him he had the work done.
May be an interesting project to try.

1998 Dodge 3500 dually 4X4 with 5.9 12v. 5spd trans with 3.54 gears. Amsoil 6080 filter with outers, stock exhaust with no cat or muffler. Fuel plate full forward with AFC the same. Blocked wastegate and missing silencer ring

Has been done, works but a compound setup will yield quicker spooling and more power.

Smaller wheels will spool quicker than a single large wheel and yeild the same amount of air.
