power and milage questions

well i got bassically a stock truck i got a bhaf,slid stock plate,and starwheel cranked. i aint doin anymore till i get gauges. but after i get gauges whats my best options to get assloads : of power and good milage??? i also got a stock tranny with 260,000 on it..never been rebuilt and feels good.

or u can give me some ideas or what youve done to ur truck to give me an idea.

well gauges first but it sounds like you know that already. Then I would say think about your tranny next, with that many miles on it more power will really hurt it and it won't take long. start with 0 plate ,370's are always good and cheap,with a 98' you already have 191 dv's so those are good enough for good power. A 3kgsk .Pull the silencer ring out of the turbo and get as boost elbow. get your timing set to around 16* and you will have a fun truck to drive and still get great mileage.

welp, I'd do the tranny first also. Give dusty at HTS a call and get atleast a torque converter and valve body. Have a local company do a rebuild on yer trans. Then you'd be doing alright. If you're wanting big power skip the 3gsk and do the 4 gsk, cheap injectors are exactly that CHEAP. Spend just a little more money and go to New Era diesel, getchya some of there 370's with the proper spray pattern. Timing in the 16-16.5 range. A good exhaust should also be on the list. I'd do a 100 plate.

Don't forget to get that KDP tabbed!

98 Dodge 12 valve, a few smoke mods, aftermarket tc and valve body and a new flex plate 16.5 degrees of timing, , Hx 40 2 5in Stacks!!

so with the kdp is there a way i can do it w/o having to buy the kit or what. also if anyone has the specs for a leveling kit i would greatly appreticate them. or if anyone has built there own

What kind of specs do you want? Basicaly you need a pipe that will fit snugly inside the spring and two rings the diameter of the spring, three bolts for he shockmount, and then to weld it all together and repeat for the other side. You can get them cheap on ebay if youre patient.

You can do the KDP by just using the $2 eggshaped washer, or you could make your own washer. The kits come w/ a washer, longer bolt, main seal, and gasket/gasket maker.
