12V to 24V

What does it take to put a 24v head on a 89 12v? The engine will get a p-pump for sure and a rebuild. Kinda wantin to build something very different for a swap I'm tryin to work out.

Thanks for your replies, Wade

Well Im sure it wont be to cheap to go that route.. I was going to p-pump my 02, until I found a 97 that already had a 24 valve head and a set of twins on it!!! I see that you are not to far from me and was wondering if it will be pulling next year??? that would be cool.. Keep us updated!!!! later

It takes new pistons since the 24v have centered injectors as opposed to the 12vs offset. What are you using it for? the 24v heads are weaker and more prone to cracking. Other then the new pistons and the new timing case and custom fuel lines I'm not sure what else it will need.

Wow! You all let these threads lay around in here awhile before you respond. lol I'm near albany and I was kick'n around the idea of building something different. But all funds have came to a screaching halt since my dad died and my wife and I are caring for my mom. She has intermedate alzheimers disease. It's a struggle for all of us now so my project will take another season of BACK BURNER. It's tough to work on something when you're wife says "tag it's your turn to watch her, " and she's not talkin about your child.

My project is my 91. I'm shootin for 375 towable and driveable hp(#2 only). That is in valet mode though. I would like to have some NOS for when it's fuel time though. I'd like to see my crappy old farm truck hit 420 on the bottle. I tell my wife that I'm gonna blow the doors off her 03.

Any how thanks for catching up. It only took me a month to respond.

Wade
