will it hold?

I just baught a completely stock truck off of some older guy which, as far as i can tell has never been used to tow anything, no trailer brake or vacant screw holes, very clean hitch and plugs, and no fifth wheel; it has a cap on it for god's sake. It was babied all its life and has 70k original miles on it. if all i do is add 370 injectors and slide the stock plate forward will the clutch hold (assuming other necessary mods like exhaust and BHAF?

thanks, chris

For a while if you dont thrash on it to hard. I would start saving for a clutch before I did sticks though, that is just me though. No sense in having power you cant use.

It might hold for a while but once it slips the first time it is down hill in a hurry. I think it would hold but thats no gaurantee

What gear ratio does it have? With 4.10s it should hold, but w/ 3.55s its less likely.

It will hold until you do something to add more fuel to it. Sliding the stock plate and 370's are not going to kill a stock clutch unless it is in bad shape already. Now when you add a different plate and some DV's, then you will be ready.
