Power Bug

Ok i been gettin on here and readin pretty much every chance I get, and I think I know what Im talkin about as well as what I want out of my rig. I was thinkin maybe 300-350HP. What adjustments can I make to my whatever leavin it as much stock as possible to get these #'s? I was thinkin a new plate, so what number? I was guessin a #10. Is there a set of injectors betwwen stock and 370s that would work? How about AFC adjustments and the starwheel? Im still learnin, so any and all suggestions would be of help. Thanks

First off auto or manual? Any gauges to moniter everything? You wouldnt necessarily need injectors depending on how much you wanna spend you could go that route though.

Yeah, since that really isn't a huge number, injectors probably won't be necessary. Like mentioned above, address your drive train first. Either a clutch or some upgrades to your auto will be required to hold that kind of power. After that, I'd say, either a #0 or #100 plate, a GSK, Afc mods, timing and a rack plug. Maybe a set of 370's. And some more air, BHAF would be a good route. For you, 215's or 330's would fall between stock and 370's.

Oh yeah, its got a 5 speed and I put a pyro on it. Boost gauge is coming. Anyone have a best buy on a BHAF and maybe a 3 or 3.5 gsk? Could someone go into specifics about getting more boost? And, if possible, the measurements on a 100 plate so I could grind it myself? Many thanks.

To get more boost just add a boost elbow. boost elbow it restricts the air flow to the wastegate and delays wastegate opening. you can find them on ebay for like $20 too. And check this out becaus I think its a great deal to get an extra plate to mess w/ a boost elow, a washer to increase rack travel, and a lighter spring for the afc.

Just get a 4k gsk. The only difference is an extra spring that they don't include in the 3k. Just keep that spring out if you only want 3000 and then you have it for latter if you want more.

I forget where that place is w/ the really cheap bhaf  Hopefully someone else can remember. I bough mine from http://www.tstproducts.com/ (there site is down at the moment) for $60 but you can get it cheaper.

On edit: The answer was just two threads down : BHAF for cheap

i have heard you can go up to 50...but i wouldnt push it past 45 unless your goin to do a head gasket b4 to long any ways....but if it pops then you could have a bad mess on your hands...coolant and oil mixin...however i dont think your stock turbo can push 50 i was only able to get 43 out of my stocker and i had plenty of fuel goin to it as well

98 12v 2wd quad cab, auto, 16* timing, 370's, #0 plate, 4k GSK, modified AFC, mikeys dv's, KDP tabbed, the twins are in (HX35 over BHT3B-city diesel) now the fun stuff in the making - head work, cam, trans, and possibly the injection pump gettin flowed

Make your own boost elbow, I did, it took about 10 min. Go to lowes, ace hardware, or home depot, get the 90* fitting I think its 1/8npt, and a small bolt. very easy, i didn't have to tap mine, i figured a steel bolt vs. a brass fitting, it will make its own threads. Just make sure that you use the right size drill bit for the bolt and MAKE SURE it goes in straight!!!!!!! or you could buy one. I don't like spending money on something so simple. Just my opinion though.

99 2500 dodge cummins, HTS auto trans, quadzilla/edge ez, edge stage 2 nozzles, HX40,special X pump, big line kit, custom dual filter intake, custom exhaust, holley blue, adjustable boost elbow, new intercooler boots, t/c lock up switch, suncoast t/c, leveling kit, new 285 bfg's, all the gauges.
