INTAKE Manifolds??

Anything to be gained from a custom intake manifold? Like wide open corner to corner to like say 4" necked down to 3" at the IC? Obviously there would be fuel lines in order but not sure of the advantages??

No noticable gains. Obviously there are going to be come air flow gains from making one a little bigger. But you probably won't see any actual horsepower gains.

:agreed: I don't think you'd see any gain unless you ported/polished the head. Most of the big guns still run a stock manifold so I wouldn't worry about it.

I've seen an intake Banks made that had a 'Y' shaped intake tube. Has anyone tried one of these? I can see the benefit with better air distribution(enter scientific calculations here). But is it noticable or comparable to the large intake tubes on the market now?

Thanks

its called a banks twin ram, same as above no noticable hp gains possibly slight egt drop due to it spreading the air out more evenly but imo no worth it
