Getting the truck back together for the 08 pulling season!

Getting the truck ready for TS, the clock is ticking!
Truck got new paint on the cab, box paint is fresh as of Spring 07, but the cab had original paint. We had some hitch & suspension tweaks to do so we had the body shop leave the box off for us for easy access.

Shop is a filthy mess right now!

Left side of engine bay vs right.

Left side of engine bay polished up a bit.

Getting the motor in for air-water IC mock up etc. I didn't realize INTERNATIONAL blocks were made as far back as 96, I thought only a VERY few 98s were made, apparently they had at least 2 castings by International!

(not yet ported) Stage 3 cylinder head set on for intake manifold mockup

Pump mounted for mock up.

Manifold mounted for turbo mockup.

Just messing with you guys, here is the REAL motor going in the truck:

I really like the looks of the billet aluminum freeze plugs!

Billet Tappet Cover

A peak at the Ross forged pistons

Better view of the pistons.

The REAL pump going on the truck

Re-worked and tweaked TN charger for 08

I'll post more updates soon as the project progresses.

Looks great man... I do have a question though..... I read that you have an international block, and when I was cleaning my new "extra" block I thought that I noticed the international symbol cast into the side. Now whats the scoop on that? is it a better block, a rare block, a POS.... just wondering. thanks again, and sorry for the stupid questions.. :thanks:

Thanks!

The International blocks were put into circulation when CUMMINS got low on blocks. Very few made their way into Dodges. They are said to be stronger and also contain more nickel.
My 98 had a International block AND cylinder head, even more rare as the planets have to align just right to get a matched set!

Very nice. I remember way back when you weren't much into pulling and still drove the truck around all the time. Now it's a purpose built rig, you've done it very well, gotta comment ya on all your effort (this is Twostrokerocket from IM )
