the day i graduated high school
Exclamation crankshaft

my timming cover gasket busted ans i was thinkin its the crankshaft vac. i was wonderin where they were located and how to clean them?

97' Cummins 2500 Gauges from glowshift (EGT, boost) Fuel pressure gauge from auto-meter. Stage 2 airbox, boost elbow, barrels & plungers turned.Custom fuel plate,Airdog 150gph.AFC mods & 3K GSK.SDX injectors (stage 3 140hp).Drilled wastegate.Converted to a NV4500 with a double disc. Being restored from the ground up


01' Cummins 2500 (dads) with a Hotrod pump,100hp injectors, Fass 150, Edge juice with attitude,also plug and power chip,stage 2 ice box,4 1/2 exgaust pipe,HX40

It may be the killer dowel pin, not the vacume pump.

the day i graduated high school
i fixed the KDP and reset the timmin bc it was off 4 degrees and after did that it started to leak oil and its leakin on the right side of the motor if your in front of it

It does sound like the KDP. When i got my 12v i thought it was just the gasket, but i soon found out that the dowel pin vibrated out, wedged inbetween the cam gear and busted the timing gear cover. oil was leaking profusely.

The vacuum pump is a common leak on these. Also so is the tappet cover, and the oil pressure feed lines and fittings to the Ip and the vacuum pump. Usually the vacuum pump can be resealed to stop the leak.

the day i graduated high school
i finally got a chance to degrease the bottom end and find out where the oil leak was commin from and its commin from the vp is there a way i would take off the hoses and clean them or is there a point of doin it

If it is the vacuum pump, you will need to buy a new seal kit and reseal the pump. Check out some of the vendors here or ebay for a reseal kit for them.
