what would I need?

I am planning to do some modd to my truck when I get back from sea so it won't be until the spring but I figured now is the time to ask questions. I would love to make around 500HP at the wheels. I am wondering what size turbo I would need to go with. I am wondering what size injectors (brand). are the 370 marine injectors any good? What can the stock clutch hold? Can anyone recocmend a cluch that can hold 500HP and still be nice and smooth( If thats possible)? Well thanks for the time. Any other input would be great.

I turned 21
Gauges first (boost and pyrometer). A 4" exhaust system, I think a BHAF air filter will flow enough for 500 hp. Then grind your fuel plate to a #100 or #0, and read the "AFC Stuff" thread in the 12 valve section to get that modified and tuned properly, and set the injection pump timing at 18-19* advanced. Add a 4K Governor Spring Kit. 60 psi valve springs, head studs and probably a new head gasket. Then a turbo, something like a 64/14 would be streetable and capable of the numbers you want. 5x.014 injectors from Dynomite Diesel or New Era Diesel, also called Stage 4 or 435 hp injectors. My stock clutch slipped with just a #100 fuel plate, boost elbow, and 4" exhaust which is nowhere near where you want to be. I like my Luk clutch, but I have not made it to 500 hp yet but it is still holding. Valair and South Bend Clutch are two reputable clutch companies, just tell them what you want and they should get you set up right. My opinion is 370 Marine's aren't a good choice. They have a wider spray pattern, which causes fuel to miss the piston bowl and haze at idle with reduced fuel economy.

1995 12 valve Cummins 6.0L, Air Dog 150, no fuel plate, AFC tuning, 024 DV's, 4K GSK, 18* timing, SDX 5x.014 injectors, Hamilton 181/210 cam and HD pushrods, Stage 2 Port job, 5 angle valve job, 60lb valve springs, ARP studs, O-ringed head, .020" over head gasket, coated pistons, balanced bottom end, Fluidampr, PDI exhaust manifold, homemade intake manifold, HE351cw Common Rail turbo and 50mm wastegate.

if you want 370's you can get the new era 370's they have the right spray pattern and you can make 500hp with 370's with less heat then a 435

stay away from DDPs, they are just a 370 with some work done to them. WAY overpriced.

a 3250 dual disc clutch is probably the way to go for you.

There are many ways to make 500 hp. I like big injectors and small set of twins with some pump work. That requires a better clutch.

or you can do it like some guys and get bigger injectors and get a laggy single. haha.

i agree with the big injectors and twins. thats the route i will be going. 5x.014s, my WH1C over something else, not sure what though. plus the proper tuning to keep it as clean as possible.

Are you planning on towing or just playing? Just playing I would go a little small on the turbo say a B1 also known as a Schwitzer S300 57/65-12cm just so it would spool fast.
