Choked exhaust?

A week ago my factory tailpipe rusted out just ahead of the rear axle so i went to see my friend at the muffler shop and he bent up and new one and installed it. I noticed the factory one was a mandrell bent so kinks in the bends. I asked my friend how much the kinks would restrict my power and he said I probably wouldn't even notice it but as soon as I left there I could tell something was different. I didn;t have the snap at start form lights and more smoke than before until I reached higher rpms. How much would those kinks hinder my power cause I seemed to be doing good before the new pipe.

It would be like putting your muffler back on. Increased back pressure will make the turbo slower to spool because of the smaller pressure difference before and after the drive turbine. If you want to make sure that's it, pull your exhaust apart somewhere in the middle and see if it goes back like it was before.
