Making a 3" to 4" V-Flange Adaptor

I thought I'd share how I simply made a 3" to 4" adaptor.

I took the stock elbow and made a 4" V-Flange ring with a large 24* chamfer on the inside then set it on the rounded "mouth" meant to recieve the flared exaust pipe. I tacked it at an 10* angle to buy more space for my 4" Jacobs exaust brake.

I TIG'd the ring to the elbow both inside and out. Then cut the mounting tabs off the sides and faired in the inside weld,

Then bolted everything together...

Rancho Oceano, Baja California Norte

A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exceptions of 4x4's, handguns, and tequila.
