chip problem

Hey,
I purchased a ts performance 6 position chip and it works great except for the 140 setting. Everything works good and has lost of power but when I turn it to 140 and stomp on it, my truck doesn't go anywhere. It doesnt hardly accelerate at all, much less than stock, and it just poors out black smoke. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?
Thanks,
Jim Dager

What kind of condition is your tranny in? Might be slipping. What year is your truck? Contact Dennis or Sheila, explain whats happening, and they will most likely have you send the chip back for a reburn to suit your needs.

sounds like you are just overwelming the stock TC! Nothing against fuel 7, but thats what tool out my first stock tranny, less then 5000 miles after I got the truck!!! Just too much HP for the TC

I'd say that if you're pouring smoke then it's not the converter/ tranny. If you were slipping it then you'd see a serious jump in RPM and no smoke because there's no load being put on the motor. Probably need a boost fooler of some sort because the TS chip doesn't take care of that aspect. Let me know if I can help you out.

Hum no... a boost fooler would do nothing at this point... He's getting the fuel, just no putting it to the ground... I see nothing about a SES light from over boost. Wouldnt have smoke if he was overboosting anyway...

I had tons of smoke and no go with my second tranny when it went... Little if any jump in RPM...

The tons of smoke is from tons of fuel. With that much fuel you don't need much if any load to make smoke. I have to agree with CSI. I bet if he listens very carefully when he does that, he can hear his TC screaming for mercy, asking what in Gods name it did to deserve that punishment.
