DP tuner....not starting

I just got my 5 position DP tuner today.
I put it in and the truck will crank but not start(no wait to start light either)

i just read the other thread with the same problem....i know my contacts are clean(i put my banks chip back in and it started fine)

i noticed that the banks chip has one less contact(top pic) than the DP(perhaps i got the wrong one?)

i tried calling but its after hours and now the weekend.

any ideas before i call again monday?

thanks all

Sorry about that. Jody was under a truck and I was fixin' supper right about when you called.

let see.....first thing I would do is clean the contacts again. Here's why.... Had a guy come by not too long ago and he had X brand chip. Well Jody installed the F5 chip and nothing. The contacts on the PCM still had a substantial amount of silicone still on them. Jody cleaned them again and installed the chip. Truck fired right up. Our F5 chip does fit very snug on the contact board of the PCM. They are made by 2 different manufactures. So they will be different in how they are made.

Here's another idea-

The ribbon cord MUST go on the chip portion one way. If it does not get put together with the red mark on the female connector going towards the center of the chip it will not work properly.

Check those out and let me know how it does.

:thanks:

Diane,
I check the orientation of the cable and its correct.
I pulled the PCM apart and recleaned the board...i was only able to get a very small amount of silicone off.

Im still having the same problem...any other ideas?

thanks for all the help,
~Tim
