Unhappy more DP tuner woe's...

after my first chip wouldnt work....Jody and Diane sent me a new one asap (which I want to thank them very much for)
i installed the new one and it fired right up:Thumbup:

on the road test....40hp felt great. 80hp econ felt good too...140hp-not so sure, down low at WOT it feels like it is leaning out. pops a little bit then starts puffing smoke and goes good...the "smoke" position is no good, as soon as i switch in the idle goes up about 100rpm and it sounds like it fattens up(which i would think is good), any thing above idle at anything more than 1/16 throttle it leans way out pops, chugs and barely moves
(oh and blows NO SMOKE what-so-ever)

the trans also was shifting funny so i by-passed my banks tranny controller, and it was a little better but still doesnt seem right(but i was having a small problem before just exaggerated now)

I know Jody and Diane are away until Tues so if anyone has any ideas ......
Thanks
~Tim

well today i hooked up my scanner and went for a ride....watching the inj pw and fuel volume, and trim i think i figured out part of my problem....the hpop is not keeping up with the demand..40hp is ok, but starting with the 80hp the pw and volume started to exceed the supply....the 140hp pw jumped up real fast and then the comp started pulling it back...the smoke position--as soon as the tps showed movement the pw and the volume demand went to 100% and then got pulled way down by the comp....

not sure i like how the truck is acting with this chip....thinking about just taking it out and putting the banks chip back in

Sounds to me like it's a HPOP problem? What was the ICP reading?

sounds like the hpop if you had a dyno you could watch the 40hp dyno higher than the 140 easy

Agreed, problem isn't in the chip, the pump isn't keeping up with demand. Ideally you'll see pressures in the 3000+ range under WOT, but my guess is that they are dropping off quickly, particularly in the higher hp programs.

The 140 and Smoke programs are the same in terms of most of the tuning. The Smoke program just has more fuel at throttle tip-in to make it smoke before the turbo spools. If one doesn't work, neither does the other.

i have also heard the banks trans command is crap? i have no first hand expierence but i love my transgo tugger kit. mechanical increase of tranny line pressure seems a little better. did you tell jody you had the trans command, bc he should have set the shift programs around it.

the trans command (at least for me) has been fine....only problems i had are when the dp chip and the trans command were both hooked up....now with the transcommand bypassed and the dp chip installed, it works just like it did prior to the dp chip....yea i told jody i had the trans command...not sure why they didnt work together..?

fuel filter is a month old

The icp reads just how much psi oil is being sent to the injectors. With my old hpop...it would go to 1400psi...then fall off on its face.
