Straight piped stroke

My buddy dave bought him a 00 Powerstroke 1 ton last week and slashed the exhaust in front of the muffler and removed the rest from there back. Now, it sounds like crap!!!! He wakes up all the neighbors with that darth vader butterfly valve in the mornings, and is very unhappy with the sound. He loves the sound of mine buthe dont want stacks, I told him to get a 4in down pipe, a 4"x5' stick of tubing and a 5in turndown and then it should sound better?

What do you guys think will make it sound better?????

I would say to get a 4 inch and make it dump right in front of the rear wheel. Make sure the bend where it turns to do out is at a 45* angle and not a 90*. Add tip of your choice and call it all good. And if the flutter is too much, install an aero turbine and that will get rid of it.

Powerstrokes have a real bad "blap" with straght pipes... Some like it, I dont... Add a aeroturbine and it will sound better and lower EGT's
