PCM/ECM question about adaptive learning

Hi...I'm new to the diesel scene and somewhat curious about making significant changes to the factory system. Do the diesel PCM's have adaptive parameters for engine management? I'm pretty sure they would for the trans, but not sure about everything else.

This question stems from just adding a 4" turbo-back and aFe Stage II to my otherwise stock EX...do I need to reset the computer or not? The dealer where I bought the parts said don't bother, sometimes it causes problems with shifting, but aFe recommeded doing it. I agreed with aFe and disconnected both batteries and turned on the headlights while installing the intake.

What's the general feeling here about resetting the PCM? Yay or Nay?

IF all you've added is an intake and exhaust...there is no reason to reset the PCM.
