air filter install

I just put the napa 6637 air filter on my truck today and when i was taking out the old air box there was a little sensor on the side of the stock airbox that goes somewhere into the wiring harness. What do i do with this sensor and what does it do? Right now i just have it hanging there. Thanks for the help.:smoke

Just leave it hang somewhere close to the filter. It's the ambient air temp sender which tells the ECM what temperature the air that is coming through the filter is. If you really want to be 100% like factory drill a hole in the tube and install the sensor, just make sure it's sealed good so it doesn't allow dirt in downstream of the filter.
