Newbie Exhaust lessons learned

Got my new 4in Magnaflow delivered and installed today. Thanks GOS Performance.

Things Learned

Make sure you have a 7/16 deep socket for the downpipe clamp. It's a bit of a pain to get off. A 1/4 inch drive would probably work best, especially if you have normal sized hands.

Inventory all parts, I had everything except the nuts for the exhaust clamps. (Thanks again GOS Performance)(Home Depot Run).

Get help to align and put the clamp on the downpipe.

Once everything is mounted, but not tightened. Tighten the rearmost clamp a bit first, then adjust everything and tighten.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll chime in with my $0.02 as well.

Get a long extension to go on that 7/16" socket and a small pry bar for the clamps. You are correct - a 1/4" drive is great. Those items are tremendously useful for all the clamps under the hood. You aren't likely to strip out any clamps using a 1/4" drive.

Agree completely about the help aligning and clamping the dp!!!
