idi turbo EGT's and boost ?'s

I have a 1994 F-350 with a 7.3 idi turbo (Not A Powestroke) and would like to know what a acceptable range of EGT's are on that engine. I need to get a pyrometer first, but I am going to turn up my injection pump and just want to know proper EGT's before proceeding. Also I'm looking for suggestions on getting more boost. Any ideas or secrets??

that means the max egt you can run is 1250 sustained which means for an extended period of time.

if the thermocouple is mounted BEFORE the turbo.

it will be a prob with a steel braided wire off of it and it is probly pre-turbo in one of the exhaust manafolds(most likely pass. side.) if its post-turbo it will be in the down pipe(the pipe comming off the turbo. hope this helps

Scott

I just reread ur post and see that u want to put one in. put it in the pass side manifold, at the back of it. the thermocoupler is the thing that tells how hot the egt's are. it will come with ur egt gauge.(its not on the truck right now)

I put a little thought into it and figured it out and realized I sounded like a idiot asking that, I just never heard it called that before.
