You're going to love it. I've put about 50 miles on mine so far, and I'm still chuckling when I drive. There's so much power even on the 80 setting I'm having to relearn my driving with the 6spd. Feels like a totally new truck.

Your early 99 has smaller injectors than the rest of the late99+ so you might not see as much improvement as some of the other trucks, but I think this difference isn't anything to worry about at all.

With the intake, exhaust and tranny you're really pretty much good to go. You'll just need a set of gauges, but I'm sure you knew that.

Ya if you aint got gauges then be getting them shortly.

As for the power, I don't think you will have too many complaints...other than maybe the accelerated wear of the rear tires

The Chips are very easy to put in, they come with very detailed instructions with a lot of pictures, along with that you can check out this video to help you further, it's worth watching before installing your chip. I recently put in my dp and it is just utterly amazing, I love it. I use the 80economy as my new daily driver, and always have it on the position, it's a bit touchy in the rain lol, but the power is massive, and oh she can smoke like crazy. I am very pleased so far with DP and I am super glad I chose them, you will not be disappointed.

Here's the video

I think with the F5 you have to buy the digital readout switch, but even if it comes with a dial switch I would be getting the digital readout. That think looks sweet!!

I am not sure if they have them anymore but thier older chips used a dial type switch and I think they came with the chip, no extra charge.

When you buy the chip you have to purchase a "F5 Multi-position push button switch" The switch is $40 and comes in three digital color read outs, you can choose Red, Green, or Blue.

Here is some more info about the switch:

*powers up in same position it was shut down in

i really like that smart switch feature. That is a definite plus over any rotary knob; if you change your mind or go to far you can change it before it sets. Plus your programming only changes once if you go from your highest to lowest setting or viceversa, without running through every program inbetween. Seems like that HAS to be better for the PCM. Over a lifetime of operation it probably cuts down on the number for changes by a very large percentage. The zero position and ability to remove the switch for a little added theft deterrence is slick too. My only beef with the switch is it feels a little low quality, but it works fine.
