DIY intake help..

Not to be cheap, but I would really like to save some mod money on my intake set-up and use the money for other mods. I have heard of others making there own system, with the main investment being a big conical filter of some type. Can anyone tell me about their DIY intake system and maybe show some pics or instructions. Also, if DIY is done, do you still use the Air Intake Temp probe in some form, as I assume it is necessary. Thanks in advance

here ya go.......nothing more than a 4" exhaust pipe with a 45 degree....couple of band clamps, and the Baldwin filter. Take the sensor and zip-tie it to the fender someplace out of the way.....it is that simple. Took me like 45 minutes from start to finish. Hardest part was removing the stock airbox..........

well, that is perty much it in a nut shell. Like he said, the hardes part is taking the old box out. andother idea for ya to chew on is just keeping the stock intake hose, and getting a cone filter (autozone is cheapest, just a cone filter w/ 4 inch opening, NAPA to, but when i was in there they didnt have what i wanted) I got a K&N filter, then ya just need a peice of 4 inch OD PVC pipe to connect the hose to the filter and something to clamp down on. And the K&N filter did come with a clamp just for your info.

I dont know that one.....the only filter I have used is the big one like pictured....I assume they would be the same....the main objective is getting the stock box outta there.
