Jay...welcome to the site.

The first thing you need to do is contact Diane (Seeya) and ask if they have any PMT or NVK computers. You mostly likely have an XLE computer...and they stink. Once you upgrade computers...then get their (dp-tuner) F5 chip and you won't be able to wipe the grin off your face.

I would say DP tuner but as you can see in sig I am kinda partial to them.
The best would be either DP Tuner, Elite Diesel(Tadds tunes), or Tony Wildman.

I traded out my XLE4 for a PMT1 with an 80e tune in it for over a year and enjoyed it immensely.

Once I got the $$$ I got an F5 and have enjoyed it even more.

Don't hesitate. First thing Monday mornin' (OK wait until some semblance of normal business hrs ) you need to call 828.221.0076 and see what they can do for you.

If i already had a dp-tuner (60t, 80e, & 120race ) would I benefit anything at all from changing out my computer? I think that I also have an XLE computer in my other truck.

Would it be worth changing out?
Does this mean that i have to send my tuner back to jody to get reprogrammed?

Just because you have an XLE computer doesn't mean you have bad base programming or that there's a problem.

XLE8 was decent, IIRC. NVK4 and PMT1 are the ones I read about the most as being most pleasant to drive in regards to transmission shift points.

Best practice is to call and ask.

TJJR you would not benefit from changing out the PCM in your truck. You have a 6.0 or at least that's what your sig says. The XLE came in the Early 99's and yes they suck. So that's why you upgrade. I actually went up to a NVK computer in my truck and love it.
