edge evo users

hey guys...i got an 03 7.3l with an edge evo programmer. on the level 1 (tow) i get a fair bit of black smoke. is this happening to everyone?? it doesnt seem to run hot, its hard to make it hit 1300 degrees on the pyro....i only have a level 1 intake, should i move to level 2????? thanks for the help fellars

what gauges you have? evo 1 or evo 2? look like a gameboy?

97 F-250 7.3 psd 4x4: homemade Intake, fpr mod, IDM mod, 18k mod, HX mod, a pillar w/ 3 autometer gauges, 3" downpipe, minus muffler and cat.

The Edge tunes do creae some black smoke. I had hit the egt limiter on the evo 2 pretty easy. now i have DP Tunes in it and no more smoke and no more hitting the limiter.. life is good..

When I had my Evo. 1 and I had it in the tow setting it would smoke pretty good at WOT. So no worries!

Oh and no, IMHO you dont need to go from the stage 1 intake to the stage 2.
