DP Tuner...Now My Clutch Is Slipping...

I guess my 217k mile clutch can't handle the power from the DP tuner because if will slip in OD in any tune higher than 80hp and will slip in 4th gear with the 120 and 140 tune. Cruising down the road at 75mph in 80 econo and stomping on the throttle will cause an instant flair to 3 grand without any noticeable acceleration...I was a little worried this would be a problem.

So where is the best place to get a good price on a clutch that will handle the power with the basic mods I plan to have (exhaust, cold air, 140hp tune)?

South Bend Clutch is your answer. A little pricey, but pretty much the best out there.

I slip in the 120 and 140, but not on the 80. She started to slip in 80 but I went out and slipped it a LOT as a last ditch effort to try to burn off any glazing (if i had any), and since then it has stopped slipping on 80. Either way, I'll need one soon.

I'm going to go with the single mass flywheel conversion, and the CON OFE clutch.

...snipped from the webpage...:

99-03 Power Stroke - MU 1944 Con OFE 6 sp - 450 hp, 900 ft lbs of torque

Seems like most vendors have it listed at just under $1k. Kind of a kick in the pants as far as a clutch goes, but it is a new pressure plate, clutch, and flywheel.

Good luck,
