scanner and programer question

Hi everyone.

I think I have a miss or dead cylinder. May be the under valve cover gasket/harness. I've read some about scanners vs programmer scanners etc.

The AE obviously is well liked by lots. But it's pricey and I'm limited money wise.

Will the Superchips 1705 read far enough into the codes to indicate a bad harness? I like the option of the program settings in addition to code reading. I'm not going to get real crazy with all this stuff, just want to fix the problem.

For my specific issue, what's your best answer.

Does it do the KOEO, KOER, buzz test, contribution test stuff? Would it find a bad vale cover harness that would contibute to a misfire

And lastly anyone have info on the Scanguage II

Some of you must used something other than AE - I know it's good but I still want to hear from some about Superchips 1705 ............Please

Thanks.
