Silverline or MBRP?

Im looking to upgrade my exhaust on my 2000 250. I was looking at the Silverline or the MBRP both in 409 stainless. I was wondering what one sounds better? And also is it worth it to buy stainless?

thanks tom

I'd go with Stainless if you plan on having the truck for a while. I redid my exhaust about 7-8 years ago, and used a stick of aluminized pipe that supposedly wouldn't rust either. Turns out it does rust and has already started to fall apart. I didn't want to spend the extra $ for stainless, but it would have saved me the trouble of redoing it again.

I don't know which sounds better but if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time or are concerned about how the exhaust looks then go for the stainless. The aluminized will last many years depending on the conditions but it doesn't look as nice on a lifted truck where you can see all of the exhaust.

Sounds are about the same. the 409 stainless has a 10 year warranty the alum is like 3. Spend the extra 100 bucks and go with the stainless.

Both silverline and MBRP are good products.. I like the MBRPs sound..

they are both great systems, but the MBRp will fit better. the silverline will give you more wistle as well if that's what you're looking for. also the MBRP is a lifetime warranty on all their stainless systems. IMO i would try to compare the MBRP and Magnaflow kits they are much more similar.

I love the sound of my 4" MBRP exhaust on my excursion. The only reason I didnt buy the stainless is because it is 2 wheel drive and you cant see the exhaust except for the tip.

Both are good products, mine did go on easier, but it is a 4x4 so it had more room to work with than his .

the only thin that i didnt care for Magnaflow was they make it to confusing on which system to get with 3.4 and 4" DP configurations and every thins stainless but can be a little more spendy than MBRP or Silverline

MBRP may be a more generic setup ( 1 part number fits all) but works for me..

I have the 409 stainless and it was looking good till i drove it in the snow now it is scaling up
