Turning up the ICP pressure at idle (either through a fooler or through programming) will make it lope. Some tuners will sell a lope tune for their chips. Me personally, I'm not a big fan of making a diesel sound like a cam'ed out big block, but others like it, so let them go for it. It's just at idle, so it's not going to hurt anything.

If you achieve a lope at idle on a diesel because of a cam, you're going to have major problems.

You can either bump up the injectors, or change the resistor in the ICP sensor.

Think about the difference between a gas engine and a diesel, and how they are fueled differently.

Gas engines pump fuel out of injectors (or carburetor) into the intake runners. So the mixed air and fuel enters the cylinders at the same time. Change the cam duration, and you change the fueling rate.

Diesels pump fuel directly into the cylinders, but only at the exact point of ignition, so the air has already been drawn in and was waiting. So they enter the cylinders at different times. Change the cam duration, and the only thing you affect is airflow. Fueling rate remains unchanged.

Now in order to get a diesel to lope due to airflow, would be to severely restrict the airflow to the point of choking out the engine. This would result in some big problems.

Hopefully now you can see why you can't achieve a big block style lope idle with just a cam on a diesel.
