Setup ideas and questions...

Hey guys. Been sitting here doing some daydreaming, and number crunching. I'm not really after any certain "target" horsepower/torque. But I have examined what I have now, and what I'd like to have as a setup. I'll list everything here. I'm not sure if my math will gee and haw, but check it out, and let me know your input. Right now here's what I've came up with.

Stock Cummins - 235 HP

Edge Comp w/ wire tapped - 120 HP on 5x5

100 HP injectors - 100 HP

4" exhaust and intake - 15 HP (This was just an estimate)

So the grand total for all the goods put me at about 470 HP. Is this correct? Is this logical? I know it's just math, and not the "real world". Actual values will not be what they are.

What will these goodies get me? What kind of smoke can I expect with this stuff? That's why I like my Edge Comp, I can shut it off completely and run on injectors only if I want to. But when I want to pump it up, I can punch in a level or two. I'd NEVER run it on 5x5 unless the truck was on a dyno.

For normal driving, I'd probably run the Edge Comp on level 1, with the injectors. Who has a Edge Comp with some injectors? What kind of smoke do you get on each level with the injectors?

NO WAY!!! The Compaines claim say 120 on that box, your prolly not close to that, and 100 on those sticks, prolly not that close either. It all really depends on your truck and tranny...

Yah that's what I thought.. I guess I'll just have to throw it all together and drop the truck on a Dyno and see what develops.

from the reading I have done on the edge systems is that they are pretty modest on the power numbers. when they did the shootout on the duramax the edge stated 120hp gain and it gained over that. so I don't think the 120 is too far out of reality now on the injectors I have not clue. but it does depend on how tight the tranny is etc

A regular Comp and 125hp injectors will do 500hp, you need air. One tip of advice, stay away from Jammer nozzles.

I had that exact setup on my 02 and the stock clutch would slip in 4th with the drag comp on kill.

as far as smoke, whenever, however much, and for as long as you want it.

pretty much rediculous.

really good set up if yuo can put it to the ground. (tranny, lift pumps etc.)

but real world your looking at 400hp tops to the ground. figure a 18% drivline loss and its really only 375hp.

with motor 235, comp 120, and sticks 100.

and no, nothing stock auto or manual tranny will hold this for long.

Yea there is NO way the stock tranny (esp. Auto) will hold that long...a 6 Speed will do it for a while, but not that much...
