Coolant filter

Has anyone put a coolant filter on their truck? Where and how did you plumb it, and where did you get the base and filter?

You can get a base and filter from Baldwin. Just get a plain filter without the SCA's.

It needs to be in a low flow circuit, like the heater.

I figured I would plumb it in one of the heater lines, but I was concerned about the filter / base not flowing enough.

I wouldn't plumb it in series with the heater core. Parallel.

Parallel. So, a tee in each hose. One going to the base inlet and one going to the base outlet, right? Will enough coolant flow through it to matter?

The filter has an orifice in it anyhow. It is more of a bypass filter. Not full flow.

Ah, so If I were to plumb it in just one of the heater core lines it will restrict too much flow to the heater core.
