cp3 drain

How much horsepower would cause the fuel rail to be drained, and how much before a hot-rodded cp3 would fall short too?

i think anything around 160hp can start leaving the rail a tad dry. but usually you'ld want to change the lift pump(from tank to cp3) before upgrading your cp3 because if the cp3 can't get enough fuel then the rail won't get all the fuel but with an upgraded lift pump you should have enough fuel pressure in the rail. maybe if u had big injectors and a big tuner you would need to ugrade the cp3 then.

In my truck just the TST PMCR can drain my rail on 5/5 and(about 100 hp) a VA C3.1 pressure box allowed 5/5 to make about 200 over stock. I now have F1 Flux 2.5's(rated @ anout 125hp.) and an MP8 and can only use the TST on 2-2 without completely draining the rail. I REALLY need a stage 2 modded pump!

the only reason my #'s are so low is I like lowend (that is where I spend almost all my time) if I was to lower the Tq. value and raise the hp value I would turn higher #'s but would lose the torque I love.

you can get a CP3 modifing kit from psi components. http://www.psicomponents.com Its called the the CP3 Arson kit. Its only about $300 or so and you do not even have to remove the CP3 from the truck. Get that and a good FASS or Glacier fuel system and you should be good for an extra 300hp if not more.

I have done the DIY CP3 mods and can run one extra level on the TST but can still drain the rail. I am itching to get on the dyno and see what my new mods have given me. I hope to finally break 500(out 0f an 03.5 HO)
I am trying to save up the money for a Floorit stage 2 pump but it isn't going too well so far!

The in-tank LP helps the fuel delivery to the CP3 quite a bit for the HPCRs... it's better to blow than suck!

Need over 500HP of fueling to start draining the rail on '05+
