went to the 8th

went to 1/8 mile track out here in san diego last night...got 3 passes and blew a hole in my bd intercooler ...so much for being able to hold 100 psi....:rippedhand:

Smoked pretty bad going home huh! Bring it by we'll JB weld it Sorry that really sucks!! Hope they take it back and send a new one! Will the banks hold 100 psi??

well ill have to see what bd is going to do on monday....and as far as banks stuff go's i think id rather cut off one my fingers and plug the hole with it than put anything with gale banks name on it on my truck....no offence andy i just cant stand banks....saw your truck by the way looks good...as far the times go i only put down a [email protected] on my first run then a [email protected] on my second...then boom and a [email protected]

ylo73z,

I've seen that before (I bet the corner of the tank split) with older BD intercoolers. Is an older unit?


BD is aware of a problem with those units and should fix it.

The new ones should not do that.

Banks intercoolers will creat a bigger pressure drop than the BD style will.

That's because Banks uses the factory style heat exchanger, the tube and fin. That's highly inferior to a better design like the bar and plate design of a Spearco, and quite possibly a BD IC.

Yeah its an older one bought it almost a year and a half ago....put about 5k miles on the truck since i put it on and this is the first time i have taken it to any race...

there were about 6 trucks counting mine...my buddy has a 12 valve that runs 7.20s at 100...but every thing else was running in the 9's..
