I need HELP w/ exhaust

Ok, I got my truck almost 2 weeks now. When I first looked at it I noticed that it already had an Airaid cold air kit and a cat delete pipe. I want to put on a turbo back kit. I really wanted 5" pipes cause I think they look sick sticking out the side of the bed. I have looked and noone seems to make a 5" kit for my truck. I like the sound of the MBRP, Magnaflow, and Silverline. They all seem to be close in price for the 4" kit. Here's my question, would I notice any difference between a 4" or 5"exhaust systems? I will be adding a Smarty next. Ihave the $$$ for the exhaust right now and thought about doing it. I know for about $200 more I could put on the Smarty now, Hmmmmmm sounds so tempting to save the cash and put that on. The only thing about that is I wantd to do some trans upgrades either right before or right after putting on the Smarty. Please help me with my exhaust ???????????

FOR SALE:2003 Ram 2500 CTD QuadCab, Predator, Boost fooler w/ elbow, Autometer 3 gauge pillar, 5" turbo back pipes..Thanks to Demon Diesel

I'd get the smarty. You got gauges? After hearing the sound from the 5" on the chev in my sig, I almost wish I had gone with the 5" on my dodge. The duals are cool, but the 5" has a better sound IMO.

Downside to getting the smarty like you said is you'll have to upgrade the trans.

Check this site out. I got mine from http://www.fullspectrumperformance.us/
On my 05, this is what i went with, 5" straight pipe. The 06 i have now had a Silverline on it, but it started to rust. I sent it back and got a straight pipe in place of the muffler. Try one of those sites for your exhaust.

I don't have any gauges yet. I'm looking at ISSPRO in the dash kit with the Pyro, Boost and Trans temp gauges. I got about $500 to play with right now. So whatever I can do with $500 right now is what I want to do.

I asked the ebay place if they had a 5" w/ a muffler system. I think the straight pipe would be too loud. JD, do you have a sound clip of how loud yours is? I LOVE the look of that 5" pipe. I saw an older Dodge with a big *** pipe on it and looked bad as hell. I guess I just wanted to know if the 4" would be good enough or should I get the 5" (which I would rather have anyways)

Its really LOUD!!! No comparison between my old 4". Ill try and get a clip for you. They say you only need 5" if your running 500+ Hp but i didnt notice any difference in power and I still get the same mileage now as when i had the 4". Full Spectrum does offer a 5" system with a straight through design muffler for like 30 or 40 more i think. Also, the Full Spectrum system comes with everything you need. Comes with plenty Clamps and the Hangers are already welded so that they can go into the factory hanger locations. When i had the muffler on, it was quieter but also didnt have any tone to it. It was more of a drone if you know what i mean. Is your truck shortbed or longbed? Im looking for a bigger tip. 7" or maybe even 8"!!! Oh yeah and go to their website and itll show you both with and without a muffler.

I went to Full Spectrum's site and didn't see the 5" for an 03. What brand are you looking at on thier site? I was on the ebay one that has the 5" and they have a muffler version for $35 more. I just don't want something that is too loud. BTW, my truck is a shortbed.

Yeah i forgot about the downpipe on your 03 is smaller than the 04.5+. Call Full Spectrum Monday and talk to the owner. Thats the only guy i dealt with. He will help you out and make it for your truck. Im sure they have a 5" kit for your truck. Its probably gonna be downpipe back instead of Turbo back. Sorry about the miss understanding
