Need to know???

I recently removed a BANKS 6 GUN from my truck. It kept causing my injectors to go bad due to excessive fuel pressure. My plans were to go with the smarty....but as I was reading it said this product design is for un-modified apps.So if I install it am I going to have the same problems??

I don't think so. Everyone I hear loves the Smarty. If you removed the Banks, then you should be in the clear. I've never heard of this problem before though on any tuner?

I'm pretty sure. The whole situation sounds a little weird, I'd post up in the regular Common Rail section but I've never heard any issues with Smarty's.

If your losing that many injectors I would guess that you have a filtration problem, if I were you I'd invest in an airdog or a fass, these common rail injectors don't handle dirty fuel very well, the 10micron stock filters don't do a good enough job. You will like the Smarty better than the Backs anyway, but I don't think that was your problem. I have ran a pressure box on mine for years without any problems, and I have a capped rail so I know my pressures get up there sometimes.

If your putting anymore power through the motor you will need the fuel and air to support it. My stock pump only lasted 63k, about 58k or so was with some sort of programmer. If I was you, just so the truck doesn't leave you stranded with the stock stuff, add an Air Dog or FASS pump along with the Smarty Sr. I run the Smarty Sr on level 1 (fuel saver) and love the throttle response and added fuel mileage. Truck runs awesome now! Can't wait to get a tranny in it so I can see what the Smarty is really capable of.
