Who Do I Talk to for Pistons

I had a little mishap with my 04 dodge the other day and well cylinder #4 took the exhaust valves out. Who would be the best vendor to talk to on finding a set of pistons, Since their coming out should I go with arias or mahle performance pistons or are they way more expensive than stock?

unless it's a dedicated race truck, there's no need for those piston. You'll need stock Cummins pistons which you can find at a Cummins dealer and not a aftermarket place.

You could try the vendors section.

Jeff at http://www.mumaudiesel.com/ should be able to get you about any Cummins part you want. I recommend him.

I second the vote to stick with stock.

Im gonna go ahead and stay stock on pistons but I am gonna have everything balanced. Also im gonna do a cam and stiffer valve springs cuz I dont want this to happen again. If I had a camera Id show you the aftermath. One way or another I'll find a way to post pics. Once I got the exhaust manifold off it was apparent that #4 was the cause of my shaking sputtering and smoking cuz the guides been goin bad for a while. Time to do it up right.

Im not sure who I talked to over at mumaudiesel but that was a real chat we had and the parts arent as high as I found at other places. Im gonna build my trans myself so mumau diesel will be gettin some business once I find out where Im at on bore and bearings, depending on having to do any real big machine work. Thanks Dual K20

Let us know how you make out! Cummins offers a .020 and .040 piston for that motors. When mine went i had to bore .035 over to clean the cyl so i ended up putting .040 cummins pistons in. But not before i shipped them to shied for fly cutting coating and balancing

How much was the fly cutting and balancing? Im not planning on goin too wild with it. Im definately gonna do a set of total sealed rings, I dont know if im gonna get away with just honing it or not, but I'll keep you up to date.
