Some questions...

So I got my truck on saturday and am already looking at upgrades. I know I want exhaust, programmer, and a rear traction device.

My previous truck was an 01 Cummins so to increase mileage and power for cheap you spent $150 on a BHAF and straightpiped it. Are there upgrades like this that we can do on an LBZ? Do I have to do a DPF delete? Or if I buy a 4" exhaust system from MBRP or whoever is that all I need?

Anybody run a locker in the rear? I know these trucks have limited slip in them but they don't have the traction my 01 had. I don't like pulling one leggers...Sorry for so many questions...

They call it PMS because Mad Cow Disease was taken...

LBZ trucks do not have a DPF; LMM trucks do. If you bought the truck you requested the VIN for, the 8th digit is D indicating an LBZ. LMM is 8th digit 6.

You can do the airbox mod which should be good to 500HP.

I would go with Magnaflow 4" turbo-back. Give Chad at Alligator a call.

Your 11.50 in the rear should have a locker. Check your RPO codes on the inside of the glove box lid; look for G80. It's good!

Depends what your end goal is for the truck.

Is yours the classic body style or the new body style? The new style is an LMM and has the DPF, the classic does not.

The PPE air box mod is a good mod and will flow just as much air and filter better then any CAI. Flo-pro makes a great 5" exhaust that is stainless steel, sounds great. But anything MBRP is a good product too, a lot of deals out there right now on them.

For tunning, this is where your end goals really come in. I have and love EFI live. But EFI live is only going to perform as good as the guy writing the tunes. I ran the Edge J/A when I first had the truck, and the only good thing was the 24 mpg highway. Those are the only 2 tuners I have personally used.

If you plan to upgrade your tuning I would suggest a Transgo JR for your trans at a minimum, if your planning on adding over 100 rwhp then a full build is in order.

Good luck with the new rig!
