Banks vs. Edge

Hey, I am new to the forum and want to know some info if possible. I have talked to people who have both the banks and the edge. So my question is which is better for the duramax? Both safety and functionality? Thanks in advance for the input!

I guess it all depends on what you want to do with your truck.

I tow a 31ft camper and want a little more power. Also I like the idea of having more power to play with. What other chips might be recommended? Is there any worries about tranny damage by adding a chip?

You can go with Banks or Edge, they both have their good points. There's also VanAaken, if you want to stay with a "box" tuner.

Then you have downloaders, like Quad, Predator, BullyDog, etc....

There are so many choices out there that its hard to say which one is "best" for you, since we're not in your situation.

Here is a chart that I found that compares tuners. Tuner Comparison Chart

As a rule of thumb, its best to stay within +100HP with the Allison.

I have Edge, and have been happy with their product.

Basic tuners
If we're talking Lilly tuners, the Edge sucks, Banks is ok, Predator is really good for stock trannys but be careful in 85 or 100, the VA is great too & Quad is pretty good.
Custom/powerful tunes
PPE is alittle to potent for stock trannys, TTS may never come out with something other than the tow tune, EFI Live is probably the best ticket for adjustability.
