VAN AAKEN:good or not

VAN AAKEN 6.6 DIESEL LB7 DURAMAX SMART BOX? is this a good chip for my 2004.5 duramax? i know a guy selling this and he clames you can gain up to 220hp and 305tq. does this sound right/safe

i am runnig stock intake and 4" MBRP exhaust. i am planning to add gauges if i get this chip.

Well, I have heard of them but I don't remember if they are good or not. It looks like you need one for an LBZ though so I don't think this one will work for ya....

04.5 trucks = LLY, I dont think an LB7 box or tuner will work on an LLY, could be wrong though.

Do not run an LB7 box on an LLY, it is not a good thing. However, Vanaaken makes a box for the LLY's that is a 180 hp unit and it is very smooth. I have one and like it alot. Also stacks well with the PPE Hot+2 ET if you want to step it up later on.

And don't forget a new tranny to go along with the extra HP and turning those 35s. Your clutches and tq converter won't hold that kind of power for long.

I ran the Van Aaken stacked with the PPE Hot + 2 for a while and liked it. I didn't tink the Van Aaken by itself was that great, but it was an improvement over the Edge anyway. Gauges are a must have.

VAn aaken has just recently went out of business. So the units would prob not be able to be returned if didnt like or it didnt work.
