40 to 80 hp tuner?'s

ive got a friend that has a dmax and wants a bit more power so i built him a magic smoke performance intake for his truck and now he wants a bit more power. he is not like most of us that want every pony we can get. so who makes a good cookie cutter program that he wont have to worry about high egt's he just wants to drive it and tow his 5ther also a good quiet exh system too

PPE ecomony or Diablosport predator

the predator is cheap and seems to be very relable, my gf's dad has run his on the 60hp setting for 4 years, and no troubles with the tuner

Diablo and PPE have pretty good tuners as does Edge and Bully Dog, for those that want simple tuning. If he hauls a 5er, gauges are a good idea. Also helps later if he gets bit by the mod bug.

Like Wayne said, PPE. it is clean and tranny safe until 120. Once on that tune or higher you can limp/burn clutches. I run EFI Live, but I have done a few mods to my truck, and EFI Live is more for those that like spending time on something like custom tuning their own trucks. PPE is also good for a slight MPG increase as they clean up the tuning where GM didnt bother.

I'd go with PPE economy so you aren't tempted to put it in a higher level, which would hurt tranny. All around PPE is the best handheld tuner imo. Although it will probably limp tranny at level 3 or above.
