94 E350 Won't start when hot

Anyone ever have a 7.3 idi that won't start after its been running. It will run fine and won't shut off or anything it just won't restart. Just cranks no start. Let it cool off and it starts up fine. Any ideas?

Try pouring some lukewarm water over the injector pump. If the pump is worn this will tighten up the tolerances and it should start. You can also add engine oil to the fuel to increase the viscosity and make it easier for the sloppy IP to pump it. Obviously these are temporary fixes.

A gallon of 30wt ND is cheap trouble shooting - about 1 : 20 ratio gives time to make sure it works.

Do not use cold water, if you decide to cool with water - just to the point that you can hold your hand on the pump with comfort.

Another thing on the list is the lift pump - if both are weak and the lift pump quits it could cause no start hot.

Are you using any additives? Same thing - some will vapor lock as the base stock is paint thinner or toluene. Contents are in the safety sheet - not on the label.
