are the new glow plugs working? is the cranking speed fast enough?
make sure you are getting power at the plugs and the battery charge is up for the starter. I'd start with a test light or multimeter to see that power is at the plugs. Then question the cranking speed.

thanks for the info. i had a guy come out today to look at the truck and he said the oil pressure sensor is bad and he has to order it. Hope that solves the problem. I will up date when he installs the unit. And yes i did check the glow plugs with a test light and they were pretty bright. thanks

I dont see the oil pressure sender beeing the issue. Do you have smoke when you are cranking it?

ya i installed a new sensor and it didnt do any thing. I didnt really see any smoke to speak of. I pulled out the glow plug and it gets super hot and i have fuel to the injector but no start or even any sign of it trying to start. It just cranks and cranks

ok so after we cranked for a while it started up but shut right off. yes lots of smoke, not sure what color cause its dark. Then couldnt get it started for a while then the same thing happend couple more times. still starts up then shuts right off. may be air in the lines? been bleeding them til i get a flow of fuel in all lines. we checked volts to injector pump and we got the 9.6 volts like the book says. Batteries are fully charged with a charger turned on when we crank.

it sounds like a fuel system fault to me. I have a 1989 7.3 non turbo (not a powerstroke) idi egine that had a similar fault. What i found was the engine was breaking prime. I checked all the fuel lines and replaced the lift pump and the fault did not go away. I noticed a small amount of fuel around the fuel heater connector on top of the fuel filter. The rubber portion of the heater was dried out and allowed air to enter the system from the top of the filter mount. if the engine starts momentarily then shuts down, if your system is the same as mine, then it is getting air after it pops off. I think you have a severe air leak. Another fault I found was in the solid line from the lift pump to the filter. The line developed a crack near the end at the pump. look for wet indications around the lift pump and do a real careful inspection around the fuel filter and the connection for the fuel heater in the filter mount.
