Load Range "E". I't moulded into the sidewalls of your existing tires.

The question I seek an answer for is simply; why, or why not?

Yes, it means a 10 ply rating. The actual tire plies may be less, but it still carries the same rating as much older tire that was actually 10 plies of cord construction. Modern tire technology has reduced the number of needed plies to have a tire carry the same weight rating of days gone by.

Hell, shouldn't they know that crap, whenever I've gone to a tire shop they're telling me " but you need that in a 10ply". I know dumb ***, sell me the tires I need and get in with it. Some peoples children are dumb man.
