Hello, i have an 85 f250 diesel....when i go to turn it on the glow plugs turn on and all but then when i go to turn over it just turns over and dosent even try to start...then if i spray a little starter fluid then it fires right up and runs....can any one tell me what may be cause this...oh yea and i just replaced all the glow plugs, controler and relay....
could be a issue with fuel leaking out of the system over night when it fires up and runs does it smoke heavy or run rough for a min ? these engines are prone for the return lines and plastic Ts on the injectors leaking also a bad lift pump can allow leak back
I'd haveta lean on what Doc said, my truck was really hard starting, i replace the return lines, o-rings and plastic t's now it fires right up.
Good luck.
Jt
