DR coils vs. fabtech coils

got a 6" radius arm fabtech kit with bilstein shocks and 5" deavers in the rear. only reason i took it over DR was that i didnt like the fact that DR used drop brackets, and i liked the look of the fabtech arms. HOWEVER, ive discovered the deaver coils in the donahoe kit are super cheap, and im thinking of replacing my 6" fabtech coils with 7" DR coils. the fabtech coils ride nice, but was wondering if there would be an improvement by switching to the DR coils, other than the extra 1" of lift?

thanks

May be a dumb question, but what are deavers? are they rear coils?

Nevermind, From doing a search it looks like they are just a type of rear spring.

not a dumb question. deaver is a spring company, and is used by DR (donahoe) in lifts. in this case he has 5" lift leaf springs in the rear. deaver also makes front coils (05+s have coils up front where 04-s had leaf springs) aka the coils from the DR kit.

I would get in contact with Trucktoyz and ask them which one rides better, or some aftermarket shop that deals with lots of superduty's.

ive talked with both marty at truck toyz and ryan at sdhq. while their opinions may be slightly biased, theyre some of the smartest superduty suspension guys around. i didnt need much persuasion because their only $240, but the swap is a definite now. thanks

DDs change every 2 years. i play around with cheapos a lot though, mostly mud trucks/jeeps...

i had an old nissan pickup that i bought for 100 bucks, with workin 4wd. bogged the crap out of it for 2-3 months, and it got so stuck 1 day, we couldnt get it out. just rode home with my buddy and left it. prolly still there under mud. had another old 79 yota when i was in school in macon,ga. the landlord of my apartment towed it because it was gross, covered in mud. unless they ditched it, 2 years later and it should still be in the pound. would have cost more to get it out than it was worth!

i like drivin little $500 beaters. throws people for a loop...
