rearend upgrade?

Guy in my area has an '01 7.3 and wanted to upgrade his rearend for truck pullin. He was gonna put in a dana 80 out of different brand truck, but i told him it'd be easier to just upgrade his factory rearend without going through all the hassle. I'm was just thinkin about a good set of heavy duty yukon axles and a detroit locker. Does anyone make a stronger ring and pinion?

I recommended him get the yukon axles, yukon ring and pinion, and a good locker. I think that'll be a good enough upgrade without doing a whole rearend swap. The truck has swamps injectors, 2.5 charger, studs, custom TS chip and a few other things...probably not more than 500hp. So i don't think a dana 80 is really needed until he's pushing a bit more HP.
