Straight pipe

05 6.0L I have a question regarding the exhaust. I want to take the cat off and put in a pipe. I all ready have the muffle out. Right know it turns down under the cab right after the cat. Just wondering if there would be any reason to leave the cat on. I live in Iowa and didn't know if the cold would hurt anything, with having it straight piped and being that short, if the cold temps would hurt the turbo or anything else? Thanks for the info. Red

Just gut it and be done, its not much of a restriction and has a nice expansion chamber once gutted. You will not hurt the truck with a short pipe, but it might get old driving it on long drives and if pulling. I have an electric cut out I can open when I want too, works great!

I also removed everything had 4 inch straight pipes coming off the turbo straight back. If you click the link you'll hear what mine sounds like.
